Santoshi Maa also turns to the goddess to relieve her pain and anxiety; after Birju, Satya's husband, is lost in a ship wreck at sea, her sisters-in-law treats her as a widow, starve her, and force her to do hours of grueling housework. Little does Satya know that Birju has been put under a spell by Laksmi, Sita and Parvati and has forgotten about Satya in the arms of a beautiful girl on a tropical island. Satya pleads to Santoshi Ma for help; "I am caught in midstream / Steer my boat ashore / Change the course of my destiny / Perform this miracle / If you so desire it, I can be saved."

Santoshi Maa is widely worshipped all over the world. People only know very few things about Santoshi Maa. She emerged as a deity in 1975, following the airing of the religious film Jai Santoshi Maa.  Santoshi Maa has very deep and inner meaning. Santoshi Maa has her own Santoshi Gyatri mantra. Santoshi Maa Pooja is usually performed for a period of 16 Weeks on Friday. But one can do Santoshi Maa online pooja for 1 Friday also.
The most important thing to get success in Puja and Homam is it should be done proper way. Each god has likes and dislikes. While doing Santoshi Maa pooja and Varat one should follow her likes and dislikes so one would get successful result.

"You are not supposed to eat or touch anything which is sour like Curd, Lemon etc"
